FactoryOS - Connected Industrial Operations

The problem

Gas cylinders are expensive, returnable, and always moving, yet most distributors still track them with paper challans and spreadsheets. Industrial software rarely helps: it is sold as a catalogue of modules even though the work is one continuous chain from the gate to the invoice.

The challenge

I defined the platform around the life of a single cylinder. Register it once by RFID tag, record every movement as an event, and let orders, dispatch, and invoicing follow from those events. The first release keeps cylinder status to three states (in storage, dispatched, in use) that operators can apply without training. E-invoicing and payment integrations are built behind configuration so each deployment turns them on when the business is ready, and roles are designed so branch staff see only their own branch. The same operating model then drove the dashboard and the launch story.

Product System Map

The product map has four layers: field capture on RFID handhelds, role-specific apps for operations, branches, and finance, a platform layer for assets, orders, invoicing, and transfers, and a data layer with background jobs, documents, and integrations.

Results

FactoryOS is in production for an industrial-gas operation, with RFID scanning, an order-to-dispatch flow, GST invoicing on dispatch, and branch-scoped access. Integrations for e-invoicing, payments, and messaging are ready to enable, and the launch site, with its twelve-block operating model and eleven connected films, explains the product to new buyers.
