The problem
Independent specialists lose hours switching between freelance platforms, filtering low-signal listings, writing repetitive proposals, and tracking follow-ups. Speed matters, but full automation creates platform-policy and proposal-quality risks.
The challenge
I defined BidWave as a self-hosted, human-in-the-loop product: aggregate first, use a fast TF-IDF filter before paid LLM reranking, explain fit and red flags, then let the user review every proposal before submission. The PRD also separates discovery-only sources from the one platform that supports API submission and makes CAPTCHA or scraper failure a visible operating state.
Results
The active-development product covers onboarding, four source adapters, two-stage matching, proposal generation and refinement, an application pipeline, scheduled discovery, and email, Telegram, and Discord alerts. Deployment remains intentionally local-first until the coordination and release gates documented in the repository are complete.
